Diabetes Nurse Specialist, Author, Educator, and AdvocateBiography
Beverly Thomassian or “Coach Bev”, RN, MPH, CDCES, BC-ADM is a nationally recognized diabetes nurse specialist, author, educator, and advocate. She blends science, storytelling, and compassion to improve diabetes outcomes through education and curiosity.
Over the past two decades, Beverly’s company has empowered thousands of clinicians to achieve diabetes certification while championing a holistic, judgment-free approach to care. She serves at a local Indian Health Services Clinic providing education and consultation. This keeps her connected to the realities of practice while fueling her mission to promote inclusivity and equity in healthcare.
Her recently published book, Healing through Connection for Healthcare Professionals, is a heartfelt and practical guide that invites clinicians to consider their own well-being while fostering authentic healing relationships with the people they serve.
Whether leading a movement break as a keynote speaker or encouraging students, Beverly brings warmth, wisdom, and a fierce belief in the healing power of human connection.

The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
